The cylinder would be fitted to the door in the usual way. This pull is then screwed to the door over the cylinder so that the hole lines up with the cylinder face. The pivoted cover offers protection to the cylinder from the weather. Cast from malleable iron, a protective undercoat (phosphate) treatment is applied prior to the final coating of black paint. A traditional dip paint process is used thereafter, to aid the dull black appearance. Suitable for internal and external use.
